Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is known around the world as being a [voluntary] third-party certification agency that strives to improve the processes and materials that form buildings today – both on commercial and residential levels, even modular or more traditional constructions.
Regardless of a building’s type, age or phase in construction, LEED is able to promote sustainable, green building efforts by rating nine different building components:
- Sustainable Sites
- Water Efficiency
- Energy & Atmosphere
- Materials & Resources
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Locations & Linkages
- Awareness & Education
- Innovation in Design
- Regional Priority
To attain LEED AP credentials, candidates are required to pass the LEED exam, which is made up of two parts. The first part, the LEED Green Associate Exam, ensures that the candidate has extensive knowledge on all current green building practices and regulations. The second part of the exam focuses solely on one of the areas of the LEED Rating systems. All candidates applying for LEED AP credentials must have a working background in LEED projects and are required to go through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) before being approved as a LEED certifier.
With numerous LEED certified AP’s on staff, NTA Inc. has the background and credentials to provide certification for any and all projects that it encounters – regardless of the location.
