Seismic Design

Not only can NTA Inc. provide the calculations for residential and commercial buildings in any high seismic zone, they have also developed the evaluation criteria for certifying Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) within those high seismic areas. As a certified member of SIPA (Structural Insulated Panel Association), NTA Inc. can effectively evaluate and certify the SIPs in high seismic zones, saving builders both time and money on every project. More specifically, NTA Inc.’s designs for seismic loading consist of lateral and vertical force resistance systems. When the NTA team designs for seismic loading, several factors are taken into consideration: stiffness, dissipation of energy and dissipation of strength. Typically, seismic design values are derived per ASCE 7-05.
